TOORAK PROJECT
CLIENT BRIEF: To design and comprehensively document the addition of a three bedroom, three bathroom home across three levels with indoor/outdoor relaxed living area, cellar and external pool house to an existing home. To assist in project management when required.
APPROACH AND KEY ISSUES: Project involvement from initial design stage in conjunction with the Architect for the period of 18 months. 3D Rhino model of the proposed structure was crucial to planning spatial flow, identifying any potential engineering issues and producing renderings of proposed finishes to assist in client decision making. Natural materials such as American Oak flooring throughout, black limestone, natural wood cladding and cellar joinery add a large degree of warmth. A hidden door leading to the 350 bottle cellar and attic bedrooms create cosy spaces, alongside those suitable for entertaining.
OUTCOME: Completed to client satisfaction, with the relaxed living area connecting indoor and outdoor spaces and furnishings chosen specifically with family living and functionality in mind.
